4th International Conference on Spatial Audio – September 7th to 10th, 2017

The 4th International Conference on Spatial Audio (ICSA) is happily awaiting you in Graz, Austria. The Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz are the 4th ICSA's hosts. This extraordinary venue which was already staging the 3rd ICSA in 2015 will again offer the ideal locations for presentations, demonstrations and 3D audio concerts. 

ICSA's objective is to be a forum for Tonmeisters, engineers, and researchers to discuss boiling new technologies in recording, processing, production, and distribution of new spatial audio experiences.

ICSA brings together various experts with practical and theoretical knowledge, which is crucial to ensure continuous learning, innovation and improvement in the field of spatial audio.

Call for Contributions

Contribution proposals are solicited in the topic area:• Multichannel systems incl. 3D audio & up-/down-mix• Channel and object based production• Wavefield synthesis and higher-order Ambisonics• Binaural technologies• Spatial audio recording, transmission and coding• Standardization and application of 3D audio• Perception and quality evaluation

Submission period: January 1st - March 31st, 2017

Conference language is English.

Schedule

• March 31st, 2017: Deadline for abstract submission (250 words)• May 3th, 2017: Notification of acceptance• July 15th, 2017: Deadline for full-paper submission• September 4th, 2017: Start of Ambisonic Workshops

Entry-level visitors can join a summer school on Ambisonics which is scheduled prior to ICSA from September 1st to September 3rd. It will offer a first-order DIY Ambisonic microphone workshop, higher-order microphones, mixing tools, psychoacoustical fundamentals, Ambisonic reverberation, VR and gaming, combination with 360 video.
